Just looking for some information about how people have done conversions and what's the easiest / cheapest way.

To be honest coilovers in the rear are pretty hard to do without chopping the foloor and stuff up and itll ride like crap

Get some air shocks , can raise and lower the car with em by increasing or decreasing the amount of pressure you put in em , and they are cheap and could match some up to bolt in

Easy to do. Weld reinforcements on the top bracket, then bolt the coikovers on. Remove all the the leaves except the main leaf.

Paradise Racing has rear coilovers for Datsun 1200: Part Number DATNAR $349 for non-adjustable, and DATR $499 for 12-position (soft to firm) units.

I really just want to eliminate the leaf spring entirely as they stick out from the bottom.
Does anyone have pictures of their set ups or set ups they've seen.

Eliminating leafs altogether means more then just a set of coil overs.you will then need eathier a 2 or 4 link setup then also some sort of pan hard bar or watts link setup.have a look thru my build thread to have a look how I did mine
