I read your write up .... what a drama getting it home.

Hope you're happy with it, there is a lot of very helpful info on this site and good people who can answer most if not all your questions.

Good luck with the build !

I have been reading over the A to B head thread. It has to be done.... I'm going to try it out :)

I'm very happy with the car. The drama just made for good history.

Started working on an A-Block to Mazda Head engine for the 1200.

I was able to see where the Mazda 1.5 head gasket lined up on the A-Block. Still need to go purchase a head from the local salvage yard. Guess the only salvage depot in town that has Mazda heads wants $150.00 USD. Seems a bit steep for a risk of being scrap.

So inspect the head first. For $150 it ought a be good ready to run head. http://datsun1200.com/modules/mediawi ... on#Inspecting_a_used_head

Nice work. Is that a genuine Datsun 1200 base plate?

No sir. That is much larger than the Datsun Hitachi air cleaner case.. The filter that will fit that is a K&N E-3035

Its a custom one.

I am milling everything but the velocity stacks on my CNC. The stacks will be printed on a Hi-Def 3D printer with a metallic plastic mixture.

I am not sure what the filter is from but I searched the Goog until I found one that met my standard for design. (20.3125" X 9.500" x 4.00")
