Yep the stock A15 and 60 ser 5 spd for the ute is all sprayed up 'pretty like' and will hopefully be in by the end of the weekend.
The Wagon was cheap cause:
1) Its all it owes me as I got a cracking motor out of it for the clubman7 and I'd like to see it go on to live another day
2) It does need alot of finishing off work ( even thought the body is pretty good)
3) I believe in Karma - one day I'll get a good deal back

Will have a 'Datto' BBQ day round at the factory in Jan 17 or 18 If anyone is interested - so Nickmitty can bring out his wagon.

It wasnt the fact it was cheap it was a misunderstanding in how ebay works

I always thought the "1 bid" at the starting price means they buy for that price?

Since the starting bid was 1000 and 1 bid bought it for 1800 its confusing

I think Nick was trying to work out how it happened not have a go at you.

ha , dont think my weapon would be ready by then . I do how-ever have just have to drop the new motor in. And decided to try that plastic dip instead of paint. back to the story, I understand that it was bought with (Buy it now $1800) But if there was no previous bids, I am surprised it was not just a bid starting at the original $1000. But at the same token I did pay more to ship mine from WA than what I paid for it.

Funny David, I just read a thread on the Datsun Classified Facebook page....seems the original owner of the little grey wagon was looking for it to buy it back. However he was still hoping it was in Qld. He now knows what has happened to it since it left him.

Maybe I can shed some light on what happened to the eBay ad seeing as I saw the original listing when it was first put up, and before it was sold.

It had a starting price set at $1,000, but no reserve, meaning that anyone who put a bid on it for $1,000 or more would win the auction so long as they were the highest bidder at the end of the auction.

However the ad also had a buy it now price set at $1,800.

The buyer obviously thought $1,800 was a good price, so they bought it outright for that amount, closing the auction before anyone else could do the same.
