Went and got front doors today.

Purchased from J&M OldSkool in thomastown Melbourne.

Great to deal with, bonnet was too big for the car so it's costing $165 (delivered to my door).

also got door rubbers and boot rubber to come

Let's see how good these actually fit

Most of the panels are painted ... except for the boot lid and rear Passenger door. Also have most of the suspension back in.

Main trouble now is finding the bits that I have 'stored'

anyway some photos for the album.... still some bits to attach and overspray to clean up

QUESTION: is the spoke part on the heater valve supposed to be bent this way?

wow no update in a month... time for update!

Let's see...

Brakes - tick
staying witht he original just rekitted the master andchecked all the slave cylinders

finished suspension - tick
original sway bar but new bushes .. the old ones were knackered

started on wiring - ongoing
rewound the engine bay harness with 'wiring harness tape' from Bursons ... it's almost exactly like elecrical tape and $1.50 fr a 20 meter roll - used up one roll just on the engine bay harness

lights and chrome surrounds - tick
got a metal polishing wheel, spindle and some compound for my banch grinder - they looked really bad now they look really good. Just need to be more careful with high speed spinning things - got a few whacks.

bootlid - painted
sent the rear door off to a panel beater for 'expert care' ... it's been 2 months and i think I should have done it myself

most bits that need painting - done

making a list.... ongoing

Here's some pictures

looking good!

You know after using electrical tape for years, I started a new job where they use spiral wrapping for wiring looms. That stuff is excellent in the engine bay, easy to put on, get off and reuse! Cheap to. I used it to pull together all the new wires in my Coupe. It doesn't look original though.

Bought carpet from TFT here in Melbourne (eBay seller)

It seems to fit ok so far but will put a satisfaction report in once It's fully installed.
Here's a pic of it sitting in without underlay

A litle progress ... little because it's too cold to go up the back shed

CARPET:
Fitted the carpet - as much as I can without having the headlining in

ENGINE:
Rebuilt (Pistons, Rings and conrod bearings)
Head reco'd
Mostly painted

HEADLINING:
You know what it's like when you're stalled waiting on one thing... I decided to pay for someone to make the headlining.

I got it back yesterday and have basically started to look at how to put it in (the guy gave me some tips so i might be able to get it done this week) It's just sitting in place at the moment.

PICS:
Here are a few

Can't believe that it's been over 6 months since my last posting

Kermit is not finished ... mainly due to funds - I don't have the spare cash to splash so he's been siting quietly

I have finished putting in the rooflining and got the back seat reupholtered, and have put the engine in as of last week.

I have also put most of the doors on, so I have done somethings.

I am waiting on cash to do the windscreens. I got a quote of $265 installed if the front rubber is ok

Here's some pics
