good question. spraying at the valve is best for emissions. Best performance is generally achieved by being a little farther from the head

I have some old 4 cylinder performance magazines that did a DYNO comparison of different injector positions. If direct chamber injection wasn't present then the one that created the most power was when the injector was in line with the runner pulsing horizontal with the runner like older F1 cars..

Neil I saw an article of the jenvey weber (hidden efi) on an L28
in a japanese magazine and the 32xhp was achieved at 7800rpm but
thats all I could make out.

The reason I asked is because it seems a bit complicated to
have them on a flange when you can have them an inch away
on the runner therefore have a design to also suit carbs
or port injection like on the older f1 fezza engines etc :)

And herein lies the problems of chasing the 'best' design. boost changes everything, as does the cam, the ability to tune it manage the torque delivery etc. there have been some very basic designs that have made silly power it kinda depends on what your goals are and what restrictions you have in place (space/budget)

i love the look of the billet parts, but making a complete manifold might be a bit out of my price range. but if it makes a neat injector and rail setup and aids in the oval to round transition then im keen as!

this is very exciting stuff, its good to have some very skilled people playing with the old a bangers!

I used to play with bike carbs back in the mid 90s with bike carbs
and many guys like yourselves have played with bike efi units which
most know are super cheap vs jenvey units.
If you can use the bike efi quads and twin x 2 then thats the way
to go to save overall costs.
A cnc manifold doesnt really make sense but flanges do for most of us.
There are twin cylinder engines with efi that could lend themselves
better for a compact flange to use those units as well but forgot the bikes.

I will offer up a free intake design for the A12 that people can DL. Flange models too. These will be as generic as possible, but free.

If the injector and fuel rail flanges can be made to suit
Alfa romeo v6 right bank inlet pipes then you can just
flip the plenum or pipes to suit the A series head.
I did the spacing and it was a winner but went to other
engine ideas instead.
The plenum lends itself easily you just weld/cover up
the 3rd inlet and cut off the 6th and plate it up

There are plenty of Kawasaki twin inlets closer together
like the A series inlets that can be used for ITBs
