Nice little engine very compact, most powerful L3 petrol engine
per litre than all Toyota engines ever in produced.
A great 4age, 2zz-ge and 3SGE/T successor

If you prefer something tougher and cheaper cant go past
a ralliart prepped Mitsubishi Pajero Evolution with
supercharger upgrade 430hp atws.
Built from factory to be bulletproof as to compete as is
in Dakkar endurance racing.
Only 2500 built as way over engineered beasts that can
can go anywhere for as long as you want and has won
Dakkar more than any other car/truck.
Here is an example but I can get them locally with
supercharger upgrade from time to time for around
25-30k aud. The only newish 4wd I ever wanted to own
as still not really into modern cars myself.
Makes the Nissan Juke look like a mardigras float

eg. manual and supercharged

Thanks SunnyDaze being searching for years for an update for his freevalve
as first documented on his daily saab setup.

I wonder if he offset the cylinder to crankshaft centerline as toyota does
for their 1ar engines and others? the 1ar is 105mm stroke and revved to
9k rpm for 1000+hp from 2.7L by Pappadakis racing drift champion scion.

Pappadakis doesnt use extremely low weight internals yet achieves reliable
9k rpm with boost on top which is crazy on stock crankshaft and block.
Aussie FWD racer was making 450hp NA from 2.5L on his drag racing Scion

Im sure toyota could make 500hp from the 1.6L on original post considering
their history with previous factory engines.

No need for Freevalve if you have pushrods, wet sleeves, crossflow head
and only 1.4L with 50s technology combined with modern tuning.

560hp from 1.4L the cast iron engine is the AY Nissan never made or developed
Renault has been using the same wet sleeve iron block and alloy heads since
the 1950s and even won rallyes in the 70s in the Alpine alloy big block version
which stretched the same wet sleeve ohv design to 1.9L called 807 sierra.

Enjoy the vid 540hp under 1.5L

Maxis usually termed firecrackers heres a detuned 400hp one :)

japs in the know call them hanabi which means fireworks.
I drove one in Japan for a couple of weeks from a friend's collection
when they werent worth what they are now which is ridiculous and
then another friend's STI 22B.

Although both wonderful balanced cars that give you so much confidence
Ive grown to love the rear engined RWD cars like porsches as well
even though I hate the fanboys. When everything is working properly
they are at another level in cornering yet not the confidence from
a lower lowered and sorted 1000 2 door sedan :) but crazy feel
