In that case, take a look at post 5362. It will tell you how I put in the B-210 suspension. Thats as close to a full bolt in as you can get. Steve

A B210 is ALL 1973 to 1978 Sunny models in ALL countries, it just happens to be called a B210 in the US and a 120Y elsewhere ...the model is still B210 (LB210 if LHD). Early B210's had the same suspension as the B110 (1200) and the early style A12 with the front mounted distibutor. These early models also had 12" wheels. This was revised after a short period and 13" wheels fitted along with revised front suspension and crossmember (it now had a rear sump). We got both these versions here in the UK. I think the early model was only sold for 1974 here. The USA might not have got these early B210's with the small wheels etc. Were B210's locally built in Australia? Eddie

You are right, Eddie, America got the early B210s of 1974 with 155 13 tires and the A13 engine, which had the same 73mm bore as the A12 but with the longer 77mm stroke that is the same as the A14. It also had the distributor in the middle like the A14. Mareo

One other thing, Eddie, the Sunny was only used in America as a high performance 1200. It is probably the same as the GX models that other parts of the world got. I am just now learning how different the American models are from the rest of the world. As far as I know, all of the Datsuns sold in America were made in Japan. I had never heard of any made in Australia or elsewhere. I was amazed to learn last year that the Ute is still being made somewhere in the world. I had never heard of the Ute until I joined this club 1 1/2 years ago. Mareo

Hey Mareo, Just wondering if you bought the sedan in Arizona, yet? You havent been on much this week , so I m assuming you went to Arizona to look at it, thats all.

In NZ the B110 sedan was assembled in Wiri , Auckland, the coupes were imported from Japan. The B210s and B310s were assembled in NZ as sedans and coupes. I once had a B310 "Sunny 1.5 ZX California" although it was assembled here in Godzone. The ZXs got different trim, electric mirrors and sunroof. It had the mighty big block A15 and 5 speed, it also had the US style bumbers with the shock absorbers in them, it was heavy as and a whale!!! I'm not too sure about the utes but I suspect they were assembled here as well. I have just found a factory brochure featuring all the Kiwi market options for the utes including bullbars, rollbars and flares!!! I also have obtained an original sales sheet for the 120YSSS (B210) .I will add them to the photos when we get more space.

I had to refuse to get the sedan, as much as I hated it, because I probably will not be able to afford it by the time he leaves for Germany. I did get the 510 three weeks ago and then my house was broken in to two weeks ago. I haven't had time to work on the 510 yet to get it running. I have rented two storage units for my stuff and I am going to take off in a couple of weeks and drive my coupe for a years tour of America. I plan to stay at least one week in each state and longer in some. I will keep the CLUB posted as to where I will be and how my trip is going. I plan to spend a lot of time in libraries all across the country doing research and finishing writing a book on the American Civil War of the 1860s. I have it almost half written already. If I can sell my Mazda B2000 before I leave, I will get the sedan.

A years tour of America? Reminds me of Rick Sieman's monthly column stories about "the Wanderers". Theyre a make-believe adventurous retired couple named Carl and Emma who travel thru a different state every month . Rick Sieman is a columnist for Off-Road.com Ever read him? I m sure you ll have a great time traveling all over the country in your 1200 coupe.
