Iv'e done a search and can't seem to find an answer on this , Putting an A14 or A15 in a 1200 , instead of modifying the engine mounts,
does anyone know if a 120Y engine crossmember will bolt in . If no one knows I guess i'll have to unbolt the front end of a 1200 and see .

wagons were only 70-73 like the sedans and will have the same x-member for the early A12 block.

Like DVLDAT said but you will still need some flat metal plates. 1200rallycar has a diagram on here somewhere of the plates and their measurements. Basically the enginemounts are either to far forward or it could be backwards, I forget and the plates just extend the mounts an inch or so to the right location

The ute cross member will do the trick for an A14 or A15 in a 1200. But it needs to be out of a later model ute, 1976 or later. Not sure why but I think around thiis time there were a number of design changes to certain models of dato.

yeah what red4go said, a 76+ ute crossmember will allow you to bolt it straight in, or make up some plates as can be seen in my gallery to do the job, from time to time people have been selling the right ute x-member here, but dont remember one for sale recently

The ute crossmembers are getting thin on the ground, so how about this... Now I'm not knocking anyone with the plates and angle iron mounts but they don't look right to me so. Grab a 120y /Sunny 310 crossmember and weld some braces across the two mounts (legs). Then drill out the spot welds and carefully remove the two legs. Now cut the mounts off the 1200 crossmember and fit the 120y legs to the 1200 crossmember. I have done this a couple of times and you end up with a factory look that is very hard to pick.
