After sitting on that turbo A-13 (A-12 bored for A-14 pistons) for two and a half years, I have finally reassembled it and installed it in my Birkin S-3. Many thanks go out to Tensandtwenties for helping out and making me get to work on it, not to mention fixing things when someone throws temper tantrums and breaks stuff.
As you all may remember, I'm a very lazy man and pictures are just too much hassle for me. Maybe I can sweet talk T&T into posting the pix he took last night.

Check out that tiny alternator! Feels like it only weighs about 3 pounds, too! And operates off just one wire... gotta get one for my 1200 Coupe...

Yes T & T, Bosch do one for our locally made laser which bolts straight on and has internal RE60 regulator. One wire connection, bought mine rebuilt for $80 AUS and revs without throwing windings off to 8500rpm.

This one is a Hitachi unit made for a forklift here in the US. It only charges about 40-45 amps, but this car will have no radio, no heater. etc. Just need it to produce enough juice for the spark and the EFI.

you absolute wanker! I have a mild A15 that runs like a singer sewing machine in storage that I would kill to use in a locost (DIY lotus 7 replica to the ininitiated) but our crap licensing laws mean we have to install engines complying with current emissions standards into vehicles that are driven much less and are safer than mass produced passenger vehicles. makes me furious when I see hotrod guys being able to get away with gas guzzling 8's with holden suspension on not very complicated square tube frame chassis'

Well, fortunately our laws are pretty vague here, but we haven't tried to register it yet.

But engine size/type/emissions will be the least of our worries, anyway...
