i dont think 880 is really that bad post conversion..

i weighed my ute pre conversion...

thats with a12 running gear
15 inch wheels (14" spare)
stanza front end (struts/brakes)
full carpeted interior

and mine tipped the scales at 780kg

440 over the front wheels
340 over the rear

so yeah.. i think 880 for a ca conversion is pretty good..

My rego papers say my ute weighs 695kg !
Dunno if it`s a typo might have to take it to a weigh-bridge.

where are you guys weighing your cars? public weighbridges are notoriously inaccuracte. I'd only trust a proper set of scales.

I wouldn't expect the ute to be too much lighter than other 1200's. It has a heavier diff, heavier leaves, and some heavier 'chassis' subframes in the rear, as well as things like the tailgate and full steel inner walls of the tray, and a fairly substantial ribbed tray floor. the method of securing the spare is also heavier. it all adds up. They look light though!

for comparison's sake, my L18 engined coupe with full steel rollcage (~59kg) and all the spoilers and flares weighed in at 850kg. Only stuff removed from it really are rear seat, hoodlining, carpet, sound deadening, and heater. The cage would more than make up for those items.

I had mine weighed with A14, 4 speed, stock interior by the rego nazis so I know it's correct and it came in at 750 kgs, 720 is what the title said before the conversion.

Public weighbridges are managed under the "Trade Measurements Act" legislation.

They are checked every 6 months by an independant body.
