im looking at a datsun 1000 ute and im wanting to put a turbo engine in it. i was thinking about using a ca18det, will this engine fit in and will i be able to get it registered. is there one that fits relatively easy, or should i just go for the 1200 ute.

As much as i love the look of the 1000 utes there is one major draw back a leaf spring frount makes everything so much harder for the conversion

an A15 with a draw thru supercharger (2in SU and an SC12/14) would be your cheapest bet.

Mate even a 120hp or so hot a15 would be very quick in a 600kg car. Stick with A-series for price, ease and still a fair bit of speed.

when i consulted an engineer about my coupe conversions he thought i was talking about a thousand coupe and he basicall said that the frount end design would limit its ability to pass the strength and relibility section he wanted upgraded everything pretty much

This may depend on engineer

yeah dude

stick with the a series.
a hot a15 will go like that clappers. its easy to paste in, parts are cheap and easy to find, and less stuffing around
