hey everyone im building an A12 turbo powered gokart

here are the specs
late model A12
shelled and rerung 2000kms back
t35 turbo
custom (home made) turbo manifold
120y bw diff Welded !!!
13 inch hot wires
no exhaust
no brakes (yet )
56a 3 speed or four speed
steering not yet sorted
no suspension
standard 1200 ute seat

and i was thinking of using 1200 struts and cutting the tube of them and pressing a bearing in each one and the running a brace type thing that will link them up and it will be like go kart steering with drum brakes

so what do you think
any suggestions about steering and such ?

pics soon
cheers

I was thinking about this the other day. i have almost all the origonal running gear out my coupe laying round the place somewere. it would be crazy fun to put it on a small buggy or something just to have some fun in. bit of work though. very interested to see some pics.

Pressing a bearing into the struts to make the front wheels 'steerable' is going to kill someone isn't it? You need some sort of LCA/UCA arrangement.

Surely there's a tired 1000 that you could steal the front setup off.

Too much effort for a buggy I reckon, but hey go for it.

you could do this or put the parts in a car, which would be much better results.

buy an ebay buggy, they are everywhere and theres one now or just finished
you can check that has a direct driven a10 engine in it.

Personally youll be happy with an a12 NA.

yeah i thought of using a disc brake front endout of an old hjolden ht but its too heavy

and yea the clutch idea is good but i want 4 gears and setting that type of system up would be hell
so i will just use 20x60 box tubing with the diff u bolted up to it and then the engine xmember mounted up the front ,but im still not sure about the steering yet i was thinking of just doin a dirt gokart setup but it would b e too heavy

and i have an A14 in my ute and im goin CA soon as i get the maddat stuff then ill have heaps of datto parts left over

so i dont realy want have any room for a couple of 1000s
haha but while im still waiting to put the CA in the ute i could put it in a wild go kart
