Sorry cant help but make sure you get the one with the short plunger. The long plunger ones look very similar but you would end up with the rev light on in any forward gear

Thanks weekend1000 for the advice. I noticed that the 60 series switch is longer. I will need one of them too when i decide to put that gear box back together.

Or you can fabricate a bracket with a "momentery switch" attached so that when you put in reverse the switch is activated ( gear lever activates/presses on the switch when in reverse)
Thats what I'm going to do and its easy.

No worries DJF
from what I have seen

short plunger is for all 56 4 speed and STD pattern 60 5 speed gearbox reverse switches

long plunger is for dogleg 60 5 speed rev switch and
top gear (4th) indicating switch on 60 4 speeds

I have pulled an extension housing off a 5 speed and it looks like a fairly simple task to drill and tap from the rear thus getting around the old "60 5 speed into a 1000/1200 problem". Leveys approach sounds easier!

Yeah you are 100% right the 56 4 speed switch works in the 60 series H pattern 5 speed.I have both these boxes as well as a 60 series 4 speed so now im thinking about the gear stick switch as well. so lets how we go, Thanks everyone
