Cool.

That is basically what I had, very similar actually (2d format rather than the format with cap-struts and raised rails like some newer engines have). My clearance issues were with the sump though and I think the weights fouled as well, I need to dig all the parts up again and fit them together, but I remember it being something simple (with the counterweights) like incorrectly drilled holes or something along those lines. I'll look for the one I made and get some pics up.

EDIT: Thanks for the clarification by the way, I sorta winged it and it was okay but needed another version or two before being usable.

D - I think my 82mm is about the limit, but who knows, will let you know when I get mine done.

I've got it all worked out how to do the sleeving in my head, just need to put the time into the machining.

I haven't been paying to much attention to the wet sleeve job at the moment, been working on another big capacity project, just waiting for the pistons to turn up.

Just a tease - it's over 1700cc. All things going well should have it running by Christmas.

Gary, just over 1700cc must be a 4age, g16b, cg13de, ga16de, e16 or motorbike engine!!! :)))

Jmac, that holden has a fully counterweighed crank! cant remember ever seeing one
on any holden except the maybe the last of the cast iron holden v8.

edit; Jmac confirmed its a blue or black crank which ap had them

A series even had alloy heads which holden 6s never did from factory.

It's probably lucky holden didn't do an official alloy head for those motors - if you knew how much core shift there typically is in the later 12 port blue/black heads (and even porousity issues) - it would've been even worse!

The spring is approaching fast here in Finland and I finally got my parts back from machining last week, here are some pics of the 79mm bore A15 block and the modified conrods. I have also installed a Megasquirt managment system in the car. I will keep you guys updated!!

Wait and see, 280hp and 690kg will be sick enough for me :)

....But in Sweden anything under 1000hp is childish?

Considering the video you posted of your dyno run had twin webers and worked as smooth as silk, theres no reason you wont reach 300+hp if the turbo is up for it.

In sweden they must the same kind of water you guys drink :)

I haven´t decided what turbo I will use yet but I have three different turbos on my workbench, I will choose between the GT25 and GT28.... maybe I will try them both! I would like to have a broad powerband instead of high peak power!?

Yeah, the Swedes sure drink the same water as we do, but there is still one big difference.... they have got plenty of $$$
