I am fixing up my dads 93 holden rodeo and its been a win so far.

One thing has got me stumped.

The indicators are going flat out at about twice the speed they should.

All the globes are working.
replaced the relay

Other than replacing the control stem (which is the last option)

anyone got any ideas on what could be causing it?
The hazard switch is sticky. Could this be an issue?

I think the flasher unit expects a certain resistance or something like that and if it doesn't get it, it will flash fast.
So led's can cause it if it is a normal flasher and also vice versa..

No LED taillights guys. Its not that.

The hazard switch is suspect, so ill swap that out and see if that fixes it

If it was the earth cricut, then I would expect to find globes out, and that would explain the issue but then again it could be. I spose its called electricky for a reason.

Its uniform on both sides.

Its not the relay- Thats been replaced.
Its not globes - they all work.

Check the plugs that connect the tail lights with the rest of the car

A bad earth can make lights do strange things, often flashing a brake light instead of the indicator light.
Double check earth connections first, but it may be still the flasher unit even if it's a new one.
Or it could be something else :)
