Well I never thought this day would come. But I'm looking at flicking off the 1200. The body has gotten pretty shabby. And I spend so much energy trying to keep it on the road that I'm never going to get the oppertunity to develop the performance any further.
A mate of a mate is keen to buy it, and swap the runninggear into their 1200. And the price isn't really too bad. Although it's a little bit less than What I'd have liked. I guess I should cut my losses.
Part of me thinks it'd be worth more in bits.
I've gotta reassemble the cogbox, so the perspective buyer can experience the supercharged fury for themselves. If they buy it, it'l be the end of an era.....

Hey Bart - just like the cars we're all getting older and the priorities do change.
I am trying to stay with the A series but that is through racing and not spending untold time trying to keep them warranted and rego'ed.

Could be an option for you with Ruapuna close by and doing sprints or clubsport?

Thanks Ian.
I'm planning to reinvest the money bulding my 510. The body is much much better. And the CA18det plus screw blower should make great power. freeing up more time for enjoying the car. Seven cars and three scooters is just too many vehicles.

Just a few crappy pics under my profile. I've never been one for taking pictures.

IRS 510 should be as safe as a drunken rider doing burnouts on a scooter in someone elses kitchen :)

Hey Bart, sorry to hear. I once owned a '72 510 at the same time as my 1200 back in early 2000. The 510 was my daily driver. I never caught on to liking the car but it got me where i needed go. I actually sold it to make room for a VW Rabbit GT that i had high hope for fixing up. Ive owned a few VW's and im done with those cars. Right now my projects are my 1200 and my '87 Mustang LX with a 347 Stroker. If i had to choose between the two, the Mustang would go. Im looking forward to making the 1200 go faster than the Mustang. And it will.
Good Luck on your new projects.
