I'm picking up a Formula 500 single seater and need to make some cabinet space for spares so I have the following:

Set 73mm flat tops brand new in Nissan box (you will need rings) $50
Set (5) used 76mm JE pop-up pistons with rings & pins (25mm pin height)$75Sold
H89 heads (partially disassembled) I have all the parts/valves/springs $75 eachSold
Set GX valve springs $50
E15 cylinder head complete with Isky dual valve springs $300
2 A-series dry sump oil pans...........make an offer.Sold
A12 Camshaft (Chambers) .460 lift 286 duration 106 degree lobe centers with lifters $50
4 Used 73mm flat tops mounted on rods(rings shot), number one has divot from valve, note I ran these in the motor post divot, the only reasons I did not put them back in is the bores on that block were to worn $ pay the shipping $
Margay KT100 kart (1984) would be OK for practice to get some seat time....... Sold

Tom, do you still have the GX valve springs? Do you also have keepers and retainers for them? I've got a GX head with valves but no springs. Actually I have the carbs/intake/exhaust as well but having the springs would help me to sell the whole package.

OT where did you get the 1200 you have now. I wrenched on one in the late 80's/early 90's here in San Diego.

I'd like to park myself after Grover for the springs. I also need retainers & keepers. Delta cams suggested my stock springs would be OK with the .425 lift regrind cam but I could shim them if they float. yesterday, after weeks of breaking in the engine I decided to let her rev and felt the power nose over at about 6k. Now I am generally of a mind that if I float the valves that I throw away the springs so I am looking for something better. Would the GX springs not be appropriate?

Tech Wiki say GX double valve springs good to ~8,000 rpm. IMHO, if the OEM spec for the GX head was for double springs, I'd do what the book says. New springs, spring seats, spring caps and retainers are pretty easy to source. If you have a severe case of budgetosis, ask member PJZ if he has any good used bits in his inventory.
