Yeah pretty mean. But man, it's sure going for a good price..considering it comes with no valves or anything.. But in the words of the Shasta reknown Michael Spreadbury.. "Unobtainium..."

Has anyone asked their friendly Datsun dealer if they are still available?
I bought my 1200 one new along with all the valves, springs & all the other bits to complete it, from my local dealer, but that was quite a while back.
I did it when a friend did it & rang me to tell me that they were available, so they had at least two of them. I wonder if there are any more gathering dust.

If buying a new head, or ony head for the A12, be sure you order, or buy the correct head. There was the early type for real A12's, & the later type for the re-hashed A12 from about 1973 on. The method of supplying oil to the rockers is diferent.

My friend & i got real 1200GX heads for our real 1200 engines.

Re the A12 heads from 1973 onwards.
The oil delivery problems can be overcome by redrilling a new main oil delivery hole then radiusing. This is done at an angle from outside the head (in between numbers 2 and 3 plugs)then all that needs to be done is to TIG weld up the hole on the outside and your in business.
Similar problems can be had if you are trying to put certain A14 heads onto a A12 blocks.
The above is whats been done to my 1200.
