Is there a difference between mig gas wire & mig no gas wire?
Asking because I bought some wire today 0.8mm (kind of a copper colour) for mild steel & it just splatters no matter what I do. Did I buy the wrong wire? My welder is no gas. Thanks in advance

Nigel, If you are not using gas you must use the flux core wire, very expensive but so is gas and bottle hire

nigel the stuff you bought would be for gas welding so you will need to have a gas bottle

Yeah those answers are correct Nigel
Gas mig wire is a copper colour and the non-Gas mig wire is a grey colour and is often called flix core wire.

And as stated its twice the price for half as much.
