It is often called the '''{{wiki|quarter glass}}''' or '''quarter light window'''. Because it is hinged and opens, it supplies strong ventilation to the car in motion. Alternatively, {{wiki|Lexan}}) polycarbonate sheet can be into a window. This is used in drag racing for its low weight is easy to cut. However, polycarbonate is scratch-prone and after a while it gets cloudy and needs to be replaced. |

Ventilation
1972 USA Owners manual (Page 07 ... 07):
opening of the windows: door window, ventilator glass, and Quarter Window
Windshield/Windscreen
Front Door Glass
- 2-dr Coupe Door glass differs from 2-dr Sedan glass
- 2-dr and 4-dr glass differs
- 4-dr van and 4-dr sedan and Truck are the same
Wing Window
The wing window is officially named the Door Ventilator. It is often called the quarter glassᵂ or quarter light window. Because it is hinged and opens, it supplies strong ventilation to the car in motion. These were very common before air conditioning became commonplace.

The vent window can be removed and custom glass can be fitted for a smooth look. Alternatively, Lexanᵂ) polycarbonate sheet can be into a window. This is used in drag racing for its low weight is easy to cut. However, polycarbonate is scratch-prone and after a while it gets cloudy and needs to be replaced.

Removal & Reinstall
- Take apart the door bits and pieces
- Unscrew the door pull/armrest, door handle, and window winder
- Carefully pop the door card (panel) off to access the inside of the door. Use a putty knife or other flat tool, slide it between the card and door until you locate the clip. Then twist to pop the clip out. There are two on one end and three on the other end.
- Roll the window up first. Then unbolt the window stop at the bottom of the door.
- Roll the window down so that the regulator comes out of the track on the window glass frame but be careful not to let the window drop too hard. Leave the glass at the bottom of the door temporarily.
- Take the quarter window frame out.
- There are three screws at the top of the door concealed under the door rubber.
- Also there is one larger screw towards the bottom of the door. It's recessed a bit.
- Once loose pull the quarter window assembly out.
- Reach in the door and turn the door glass 90 degrees then pull of out from the top.
- To reinstall, do everything in reverse. However don't tighten the screws on the quarter window assembly until you get the new window to align with the slots on each side. That is the hardest part.
