Tail lights, tail lamps, or as Nissan calls them "rear combination lamps", combines the running lights, brake lamps (stop lights) and turn-signal lamps (blinkers). USA lights have no yellow section as it was forbidden by US law in the 1970s.

Pickup

Datsun 1200 (Pickup) has three-segment rear lamps:

Bottom section is clear for backup lights, 23W single filament bulb
Middle section is red for running lights, 23W/8W dual filament bulb
Top section is for turn signals: Red for older ones, Yellow or newer models.
- 23W single filament bulb, same as bottom section
- Aftermarket clear lenses are available, which use color bulbs

The lens frames were offered in various styles:

Chrome through 1978 March
Black from 1978 April
1971-1977: were originally silver
1978-1989: changed to black
