140Y and 160Y

Datsun-Nissan South Africa sold models based on the Sunny Excellent marketed as "140Y" and "160Y". This was alongside the 120Y (A12-powered B210 - see South Africa B210).

Upscale B210 sedans & coupes based on the Sunny Excellent with L14 and L16 engine power were sold for the expanding market. The Datsun-Nissan 140Y and 160Y were based on Sunny Excellent with distinctive grille, taillights, and interior compared to the regular B210 models. Although the South Africa 120Y also used the same grille, the 120Y did not use the Excellent-style taillights.

Datsun-Nissan South Africa produced a special based on the Sunny Excellent 1400, marketed as 140Y for 1976-1977:

Unlike "140Y" models in the rest of the world that were regular B210s with an A14 pushrod engine, The Suid Afrika 140Y was a genuine PB210 with L14 Overhead Cam engine:
