Perspective

What does 1/4 mile time indicate? Sure it is the time it takes a car from a standing start to travel 1/4 mile. But how many seconds is slow, and how many fast? Here are some comparisons to put it all in perspective:

• 22 secs: 1972 Volkswagen Beetle: 22 seconds 1/4 mile
• 20 secs: 1972 Datsun 1200: 20 seconds 1/4 mile (see Performance)
• 14.8 secs: 1964 Pontiac GTO "the original muscle car": 14.8 seconds from 6.4 litre engine

It has plenty of potential as I am spinning 1 wheel madly on take off and in second and third gear it was running out of fuel and missing. So once I upgrade the carby get a good tune up and fit the locked r31 diff she should go heeps better.
