The engine cooling fan is attached to the water pump. Datsun 1200 uses a tough plastic 4-blade fan of 310 mm diameter (12.2 inch), which are strong and not known to break. Some newer A14 used the same diameter fan but with a negative offset and was used with a spacer. Datsun 1200 used no spacer, but used a longer water pump. Some newer A-series engines used a 330mm fan with spacer. 330mm fan was Datsun 1200 OPTION FOR TROPICAL USE. Datsun 1000 used a metal 4-blade fan.

Comparison
There are five diameter of fans for RWD A-series engines:
- Small #Steel Fan: 280 mm metal 4-blade used on Datsun 1000
- #Plastic Fan: 310 mm diameter plastic (used on A10/A12/A13/A14/A15)
- #Large Plastic Fan: 330 mm diameter plastic (also B110 OPTION)
- #Electric Fan: 320 mm diameter, steel 5-blade (some 1980-1982 B310s)
- #Thermo Fan: B310 OPTION and PB310 (A15): 350 mm diameter , 7 blades
In USA, A/C 1200s got a flexi-fan (fibreglas blades), while B210/B310 used #2 above.

Steel Fan
Datsun B10 used a small 280mm fan, consisting of two steel blades both bolted to the pulley/hub thus making a four-blade fan assembly.
Plastic Fan
Datsun B110 standard specification は標準仕様 is a tough plastic 4-blade fan.

Early B110 used regular lock washers, later ones use metal strips and bent the up to lock the bolts.
310 mm fans came with these offsets:
Deep Dish Fan (B110) used with H10 long water pump: flange from back: 0.84" (20mm), from front: 0.35" (9mm). No spacer is used
Unknown Fan: flange from back: 5mm (reported)
Shallow Fan used with H72 short water pump: flange from back: 10mm, from front: about 1+". Requires spacer/adapter to match the pump bolt pattern

Large Plastic Fan
OPTION fan. Just like regular 310mm fan but with longer blades

Newer A-series engines (B310, C22, etc) -- especially those with aircon -- use a thermostatically controlled clutch fan.
