Found myself an e15 dizzy today, cost me $20 bucks without cap or rotor.
New cap and rotor $30 bucks, not too bad really..

My question is how do i modify the mounting plate or dizzy itself to match the a12 block?????
Also what about wiring,do i need a new coil (i have a gt40),ballast resistor,relay etc...

I have taken plenty of pics and plan to post pics and description of install to helpout others planning this mod....

there is a huge tech article on this in the tech section with step-by-step instructions. i would suggest you try there first and then if you have any queries post them up.

good luck

That is telling you how to fit a late model elecectronic dizzt to an early block.
Were you dropped as a baby or what?
I too would like to see some pics with a good descriptoin of how to fit an E15 dizzy to an "A" series motor.

No pro-240c that is not what i'm refering to..
I have an electronic dizzy from an n12 pulsar with the e15 engine.
I know that this mod has been done and was after info on methods of mounting it to the a series block, the e15 dizzy has a different plate than the a12 dizzy.

If you had read the article that you linked too, you might have noticed this...
Quote:
This distributor is factory stock on 1978 Datsun B-210 (North American version of the B210).

(edit)
Converted, can you get some pics of the dizzy for others to see????

To fit the E15 dissy into an A series you need to change the drive gear to the A series one. ( its been discussed heaps, so you will be able to find it with the search button if you really want it)
To mount the E15 dissy in the A series block you need the dissy mounting plate off of a 120Y A series onwards. ( just like on the right in the attached pic)
The mounting plate on the left is one Jeff Taylor made for me years ago for the E15 dissy to fit an A15, all 120Y onward A series will require the same. Early 1200 A series will require a different but similar modified mounting plate.

Thanks phunk,I was aware of the change needed with the drive gear..
Do I absolutely have to use the 120y plate or can i just modify my current one????
My ute is a 1976 model, the plate has screw holes on either end with timing marks on the side...

Do you have any ideas about wiring this up??
(Is it you who is the Auto Sparky??)

I hope i'm not asking stupid questions!!!!
