Thanks guys.

I'm currently browsing through the Yokohama online catalogs. Seems I can only get the A-Drive AA01 in the size that I need. Not really a performance tyre though.

Pirelli do the P400 Touring, again not really a genuine performance tyre.

Does anyone know if I'm able to go a little bit wider say to a 185, 195 so I can have more options available?

Hey Steve, 185 would probably be even better than the 175s you've got. if theres a 195 available for a 13" rim that would most likey be OK too.

blackhowler, your local tyre shop should be able to get whitewalled tyres in for you, the guy I was talking to said they are only available in 13" or 14" and the 14" ones were wierd sizes.

looks wise, i don't think 70 series profile looks as menacing as a 60 profile

there used to be this cool 175/50/13 pirelli p7, and apparently that size is still available if you know where to look

but that may be too rubber bandish for you

Cheers Benny those Dunlops look good stuff, but wouldn't having a 60 profile tyre instead of a 70 which is what I've got currently throw my speedo out becuase it would be a smaller rolling radius.

I'm known to be totally wrong of course.

For what it's worth I'm a frugal sort of bloke .
Recently I've put a set of 175 60 13 Nankang directionals on the 120y. The car doesnt produce that much horsepower (L20b motor) . They worked out at about $75 each fitted blah blah blah. They wouldn't rate as a performance tyre but I have to say that I often push the car very hard and they are a very pleasing tyre. Predictable , quiet, they aint soft and stickey but what the heck I've got to say they are well worth the money.
I'm not sure if they make them in a 70 profile, by the way I got them from Beaurepaires and the guys there were great.

Noted Shirley, thanks!

Can anyone tell me if going from a 70 profile to a 60 will throw my speedo out by much?

There's just so many more 60 profile choices out there even for a 13inch rim.

EDIT - Well I just found an answer to my question. Changing profile is a no-no according to Bob Jane Fyshwick.
