Thats pretty crazy. Seen a pic of a red 1200 with a L6 in it before... i think in the tech section here.

I recon if he had a thin rad and mounted it really far foward and then moved the engine right up and ran a thermo fan it would fit! Must be a pig handling wise considering the extra weight!

Yeh waste of time running that single carby! 240Z SU's would be a better bet! Or like you said, triples!!!

now a little while ago somebody had killed there L18 in there 180B and was asking if an L6 would fit beacuse he was offered one cheap but the blokes talked him out of it saying it wouldnt fit but now seeing this picture makes me think if it fits in a 1200 with a little bit of firewall modification then it would fit in a 180b without any or close to no firewall mods would be woth a try with a turbo and factory 280zx injection that would be fun!

that amount of effort, and I would have a 20B in there... well actually a 20B would go in for about half the effort...

Does it still have the stock struts? I also have a 280ZX FI with 5spd box stashed away and did consider fitting it to my 1200GX coupe?

Wow what a crazy conversion!! yea the 20B might be half the trouble but more than double the cost.. I think you cant go wrong with keeping a nissan/Datsun motor in a Datto shell. (but i do love my rotors too) With the L26/L28 you can get a EFI manifold that will bolt straight on (Like off the R30 etc) then depending on the power some aftermarket injectors and computer and your kicking ass. i had a 1970 skyline that i fitted a L28, EFI with a T04 turbo (worked/boosted) and i got 311hp on the dyno, so im used to these motors. But in a 1200 the power to weight would be very dangerous. im thinking of going L20 Turbo in my ute for the next rebuild down the track.
good luck !! keep us posted.
