hey guys can i get some help on jet sizes heres the rough idea i have on the build basicly bits i have lying around..... a12 with flatops standard a14 or a15 head also going to give it a rebuild will have a 34/70 cam in it and twin 40mm dellorto's and an exauhst to suit pretty basic build. any help?? thanks in advance

Theres at least one computer program on the net where you put in the size of carbs, engine size, rev range etc and it gives you sizes for jets etc. Sorry I cant remember where I found the one I had.

I'm hoping that someone else that actually knows will answer this for you as I will have to go and read it all from a book, but if your still stuck tomorrow night let me know... While the book is great, I also dont want to give you bad info, in case I read something wrong or other misinterpretation...

Are they alfa DHLAs? If so what is the prefix on the carb, (DHLA 40-?)
They are harder to jet because they have a leaner progression phase for emissions. You need to go richer on your idles to cover that and stop the car from being too sluggish down low.

Yeah there is two general types the normal ones and the other is the emission control ones, I dont think they only were for alfa's though.

One of my old engines is a 1300 running a 32/70 cam, GX head, 11:1 C/R, pump gas and twin DHLA 40s.
Carb set up on rolling road: Chokes 31mm Mains 125 Air Correctors 170 Emulsion Tubes 7772.5 Pump jets 33 Idle/slow running jets 50
Smooth, tractable fast road engine with power band 4000-7500 rpm.

Thats the book I have at home, very good reading, goes into detail on how to get the emissions types jetted properly, enjoy!
