1400+ Hp was posible from 1.5lts in 1988.

300+ shouldnt be too hard in 08, Its all about keeping all the temps in check.

Well done i say.
Really should be in a race car tho.

don't forget that those engines would last 2 hours if they were lucky.

bmw used the engine block from the turbo 2002. but they would use old engine blocks. leave them outside and piss on them before they ran them. so maybe thats the trick!

thanks 2qk4u, puts it all in perspective,
if they can flow the engine to feed a GT30, and keep the fuel and spark up, y not.
do u know what rpm @ 300 hp? and what octane fuel?

i get what you mean for sure 2qk4u, and i guess you are right about the possibilities. i don't doubt for a second that the a series is a very potent and underrated motor. claims like stock bottom end tho initially made me smell bs. with a 1600+cc engine it starts to look more realistic. a gt3071r is laggy on a ca18det, imagine on an a series!

its like 1200post telling us all about his 10 second sr20de motor with z18 turbo and neglecting to mention stuff like the fact that he runs methanol silence us all and go drag racing!

ps i think its an awesome effort, watching that dyno he obviously makes wads o power!

if i can remember last time i spoke to him (last chrissy) he was using a t35/70. i have some video of him when we did some highway drags last year and holy shlt it flys. in question to how well it corners, it corners the same as any other 1200 with an a12....perfectly

remember i suggested its a GT3076 not 71, so much smaller A/R ratio, still a 320 - 500 something turbo. .63 rear housing so should see boost about 4800~ ABOUT. and dolphin might be more reliable on his info as im just making a educated guess.

Rev limits at 8000rpm, sooo an engine to rev to 8 thousand revs is slightly more than stock smokey A12.

Dude i had to go meet the guy to find out what its all about, no waaaaay will he tell us his information over the net for every joe blow to copy. even for me to find any info i had to read between the lines, give him 10grand and im sure he will flood you with info. remember weve all said it before open bank (hes doing the work himself so he got a budget setup for what it is) and we could all build an A series that could POTENTIALLY make this sort of power.

hell stroke an SR sort out some really nice air flow and TUNE the thing correctly and im sure every drifter will make power otherwise unheard of.

I just get frustrated that people seem to stick to the limits of what this forum has to say or suggest. Try it and when it doesnt work then work out why it didint and fix it till it does work! Yes we are sceptical about this power because of claimed stock bottem ends but geez sift through the bullshit, and you can come up with a combination of why it is possible, i think we have all just been bluffed with bullshit.

2qk4u i understand what you say most people now say dont bother with the a series cause its a waste of time put an sr or ca in it which ends up making the car lose originality i would much prefer open my bonnet to an a series that is a 30+ year old design making really good power and handling like it did from factory then to a 10 year old motor design like the sr or ca that is far heavier and causes you to have to upgrade the suspension far more then what you would with an a series
just my opinoin
i would love to see what the capabilities of this motor would extend to if it had an ay12 head
