WOW, I didn't expect this much response. Looks like there are more than just a few big kids out there.
Keep the pictures & stories coming.
Since the first post I have had a meeting with one of the three frame welders at Competition Developments who were the manufacturers of Quicksilver.
Each frame number was followed by a single letter that was the initial of the first name of the frame welder & all three of mine were built by 'D' for Darrell.
After carefully examining my 'Team Helium' frame he has declared it to be one of the three hand made pre-production frames that he made & were used
for R&D, testing, brochure pictures, & promotion.
The rear tubes were hand bent on the bench & various parts were tack welded during assembly due to the lack of a jig while production frames had
tubes bent in proper fixtures & were welded up in jigs.
One of the three was raced in open competition by Mark, another of the frame welders & he was the 'factory test rider' it seems.
I have his numbers & will catch up with him soon.
I will now have the chrome plate removed by the original electroplaters & Darrell has offered to repair the chain rub damage & other minor dings.
It will then be re-chromed, again by the original shop which is still run by the same people.
The pre production frames used red stickers from a previous model while the production frames had the blue ones that were designed for this model &
a new set of red ones is on its way.
This frame was discovered tied to the wall of a Sydney bike shop by one of our forum members who promptly rang me to tell me of it on a Saturday morning.
The following Monday morning I was in there negotiating a deal not fully realising what it was that I was buying.
Thanks Ben, I owe you for this. It is destined to be a carpet queen now.
Anybody got a Tange TRX fork that is available?

One of the three [red stickers plus valves in tubes] under test in competition.
Judging by the colours it has been assembled from whatever was laying around the workshop.
EDIT That's Mark Bradley in the air. He was involved in design, manufacture, & testing. Any frame numbers with the suffix 'M' were made by him.
