Have you checked all ya lines for leaks and adjusted the brakes ? What order did you bleed them in ?

There is a little square headed bolt on the top it will be visible when you look up from underneath the car, get a torch if necessary. You dont have to take off the wheels or anything just may need a shifter or the correct fitting spanner. tighten them like a normal bolt to the right bit by bit. keep checking as you go but a sudden loss of pedal sounds like somethings given out.

I think it will allmost scertenly be that the pads are just two far from the drum? you may need new pads with more meat or you can just adjust them with the 17mm bolt heads on the rear of the drum aitch turn a snale shell shaped cam witch lifts the rest position of the pad..

try driving as it is and pumping the bracke peddle quickish if the come on after the second or third pump than that will be the problem..

Good luck

and what andy sed for the back break's!

do they get better if you pump them?

Edit: what ROConnor said

and for the rear drum adjustment there is a small square doover poking out of the backing plate near the top

Is the pedal still hard at that level? If it is your brakes are out of adjustment. Buy a workshop manual and adjust them up (very easy) or take it to a brake shop to do.

If the pedal is spongey and will 'pump up' to a better higher pedal i would say hydrolics are farked. Is the level still full? If it is could be a brake master cylinder.

Also what condition are your brakes in? For all we know you could be trying to adjust completely worn/leaking brakes with mud for brake fluid!

yea they need to get adjusted cause the drum was a bit loose when i pulled it off to check the pads but when my step dad looked to see if there was something to adjust them he couldnt find it so he thought maybe they would adjust if we bled them and theres plenty on the the pads and the fluids still full and its clean brake fluid. ill adjust the pads tomorrow coz its a bit dark to do it now and hopefully that fixes the problem. after i adjust the pads will i need to bleed them again or should they be right?

Maybe bleed them again for arguments sake. possibly your step dad was looking for an adjustment internally like some old Holdens but there is no need to remove anything the adjustment is external but up on the inside. Will post a pic later to save any confusion, unless someone can beat me to it. Hint Hint
