Hmmmm a dilemna...or maybe not, perhaps you guys can help me decide, i've been offered a 1 owner 180B with 83,000ks as a swap for my 1200 which has 129,000 miles it's not about the money now as a recent windfall has fixed that situation
The 180B is 100% original wheel trims interior etc, so what do I do. I have a set of SSS carbs at home for the L18 but that might not be a good idea on this original car...
Having never driven a 180B (my little bro has a Kingcab so I know I like the L18 ) is it a good idea?

180B's are OK... if you've never driven a modified 1200. You'll miss the point and squirt and the uniqueness of the 1200 and if $$ is no longer a prob you should keep Kermit and eventually build up that wild A-Series you want. Then beef the suspension and take him for a run through the Kaikouras. How many websites are dedicated to the 180B and have a worldwide following?

That website idea is a good point...that's why I had to revert to you guys...there's just no info on the 180B...why do I always get carried away with car stuff just before end of year exams?
Out of interest does the 180B have an independent rear? The main reason for my excessive interest in this car is that my Dad loves the L18 to bits, his ute (720 Kingcab, now my brothers) has done 140ks (he's had it since new) and the oil still come out gold after 5k...he did baby it just a bit

I've got a 1200 and a 610, and they compliment each other: one is a racer and the other is a cruiser. If I had to choose, I'd figure out what kind of driving I do the most, racing or cruising.

BTW, any mod you can do with a 510, you can do with a 610.

I wonder If I could pull off both as well?! I think he overvalues it a little for me to buy it outright....he wants NZ$2500, about US$1200 last time I checked is that reasonable for a mint 83k 180B?
I wonder what my car is worth for that matter...

I assume they will have IRS as theyre the successor to the 1600 which had it.

I take it youll remember that orange 180B around the uni area.

I followed it the other day and I dont know what hes got done to it but it took a the 90

I agree with Datserr.. You are thinking about cars only to give you an excuse not to study..So go and read a textbook mate!

1. Ugly..fugly actually.
2. Good for donor parts for a 1200
3. Good for scrap metal
4. Good for 180B wagon rear drums.
5. Good for making a scrapyard seem full.
6. Good for Z18 transplants
7. Good because sedan/coupes have IRS

Ok..I'm being a bit silly.

But a 1200 is better in so many more ways.
1. Lighter
2. Better website
3. Better styling
4. Actually considered to be cool by more than 10 people in the world
5. Can still get parts because of the 1200 Utes.

Buy an L18 if you like them so much..and put it in your 1200. We'll still talk to you then
