Hello there, I'm thinking on getting a c18 twim cam engine on my 1200 coupe (nissan pulsar in US), my question is i don't want to go to all the trouble to convert and adapt the fuel
injection and all the electronics(and a big hole in my packet and probably a divorce),can i remove all the fuel injection and all the electronics associated with it and install a
manifold and maybe a set of weber carburators. Will this work with this engine? I will apreciate any coments or ideas. thanks guys

Yeb you can run that motor without injection but why would you if your goal is saving money? Presuming that you are getting a complete rear drive motor, trans and computer - you won't
really have too many dramas with the CA18DE. Just a bit of rewiring, engine/gearbox mounts, tunnel massage, radiator. You have to do these things any way but non-standard you're going
to have to find, additionally, a manifold (probably custom made) and 2x Weber 45's. What US Nissan has the rear drive CA 18?

What's more important..your datsun or your marraige...just kidding . I too suggest using the computer, as the carburation option may be more costly and time consuming. I'm guessing
it's the time-consuming part that has the potential to cause harm to the aforementioned..
The Computer install is almost dead easy, especially if you have a full loom. I can scan and send you wiring diags that will help. And it will run quite smoothly, it's not 100% because
you won't have a speed sensor, which in my experience makes it play up a little. But the associated symptoms with that are fully bareable.
Just think of the ease of turning the key and the engine starting in less than a second..no more choke..less swearing..it's got to be good for your marraige. Definitely go for engine/
loom/computer option. Otherwise you are heading into unchartered waters.
Chris.
ps. I've installed 2x CA18's 1xDE and 1xDET.

Quijoteus if you only have CA18 motors in pulsars in the U.S I would not attempt to put it in a 1200.This is because its a fwd engine and you will have alot of
trouble with manifolds and gearboxes. You did say that the motor was coming from a pulsar.

Tony I remember seeing a Pulsar web site and the late model Pulsar they had a picture of was in fact our NX Coupe. Was it front or
rear wheel drive.
