clive im just wondering why you need a 2mm head gasket? and in my experience ive had nothing but trouble with copper head gaskets. i used o rings and hylomar spray to seal it. the biggest issue i had was coolant leaking from under it as well as oil. i had no issue with keeping 13:1 comp in it with the o rings, but there was always a white coolant stain on the block. this was on my 186 holden engine. have you looked up a cometic multi layered metal gasket. thats what we use on our boosted and race engines at work

Aluminium too soft.

Copper is the best. They'd be used on every car if they weren't so expensive.

Send these guys a template of what you want and they will make you a multilayer steel gasket (if they don't already do one for A12/14 motors)

Even L24 do headgaskets so an inferior holden 6 would be an issue with copper.

Well my pistons will be flat-top and the idiot engineering skimmed my head 2 much. I want to try and run 11.5:1 so i can maybe get away with 95 octane for street use. 1200Gxman said payen does custom gaskets, the thing is for how much ? :( and R450 for a copper one is cheap. But if its going 2 bother with leaks i rather want a diffrent idea, the multi- layer metal gasket sounds awesum, but how long will i have to wait for it since we in africa ? :P

Hey Clive, I lived in East London, SA, and used a copper gasket for a few years ( on both a turboed A14s & on a Mazda FE3 in my bakkie)without much problem. Your surfaces (head and block) have to be VERY smooth/good otherwise u pick up seeping. I had the block decked very slightly and the head. Used that spray-on Spanjaard copper gasket spray. If u boost past 1.4bar just order a Multilayer on the net, pay by card, and youll have your gasket in the post in 2 months. OR get LASERTECH in PE to make a copper one, the last 2 they made me were less than R200 each because I sent them a std one to use as a template, DETAILS 34 Hancock Street North End Port Elizabeth Tel: 041 487 3303. Fax: 041 487 2442. Email: sales@lasertech.co.za

I can't think that it will be much more expensive than a standard one.You are just changing the thickness.

Why I don't like the copper idea is because as mentioned you can run into sealing problems. Look at bones's reply.
He decked his head and block to make sure it is flat and clean. With your cylinder head already over skimmed, I don't think you can try to do it again.

Does anyone perhaps have a CAD drawing of such a head gasket?
