So he didn't leave any details for insurance? He's not fussed about the damage to his van?? Haha coincidentally I'm in the EXACT same boat, bastard tried to take a park while i was reversing into it. Luckily my extra heavy duty tray crushed his Ford Courier, while no damage was sustained to my tray. And the wanker claims it's my fault! I was in the friggin' park ya wanker!!! Haha

Going by the pics I'd say you were in the right. Take the pics into the cop shop and let them know, if they agree you're in the right I'd track him down and harp him for insurance. I have to ring the bastard that crashed into me tomoz

mmm pg:72 of the SA drivers handbook might say you have to give way to the driver on the continuing road as you were on the terminating road, no matter what direction they are travelling.

i still think that you were in the right, however this is one of those stupid road rules i think may say you were in the wrong cause there were no lane markings..... glad your ok and about the new job though.

also as per revhead, 2 main points that SA rules are backwards, they have got a one way freeway that swaps directions to get cars into and out of the city during the day. most people thought to build two roads.

2nd one, whats with left hand turns only in the CBD in peak hour traffic. ??? i see the thought pattern behind it but in reality, you have to drive half way across the cbd to get around to where you wanted to go.

well that sucks chris...i hope your car gets back up and running, its hard to see a datto down. But i still think the other driver is clearly in the wrong as he was obviously driving on the wrong side of the road. he must have thought he was in south austria or something....cant stand corner cutters get them all the time here, most perth drivers dont know how to drive let alone give way (they think its a suggestion not a road rule).

in perth wa its a crime to drive off after a crash

the photos dont help you due to your car being on the road where u dont have right of way u have to stop befor that area and check the road is clear . and im shore your car got push'd back some

so delete the pic's and go back to the cop shop and say u stop's where u should of and the van came outta nowhere and bang

hope u havent allready shot your self in the foot with telling the cop's and showing them the pic's .

lastly if u did tell n show the cops the pic;s and no report was made go to a new cop shop and try maybe the new story

ps disk brakes might be a good idea
