I just hit up my mate. He said that the ignition is load sensitive. So you would need all the hooplah to run. Stink as.

Right plan B the dizzie from the cam.
Could I possibly re-wire the cas to use e15 ignitor and change the disc to an e15 pick up and disc?
Otherwise I also have an old Jaycar box and a local electronic ignition unit that uses a simple poly
disc and magnetic pickup, I cant remember the mobs name but it was an old fella back then that did
the kit and he was about 80 years old then but still problem is it use rotor button ;(
Ill look for it tomorrow in my stash someway or other Its gonna happen.
I dont want to use the sigma dizzie, someone mentioned the Telstar dizzie or Mazda F3
I think it is? Hondas also run the other way, some mazdas have the rotor cap plugs coming out
of the sides which will help with placement and space

This is a good kit

So you are now planning to run a dizzy on the engine that you are putting on carbs so that it looks neater. The dizzy would have to be one of the ugliest things in the engine bay
And what's wrong with using the ca igniter and coils?

Absolutely ugly, however do you know how to mod the factory CAS
to avoid running a dizzie? Im stuck atm. The dizzie Im looking
for now is compact, its shorter than the one in pic its a Mazda
ford 323 or similar. A temporary measure before I puke!

Just realised one of the dizzies below doesnt have vaccum advance
The other bigger one from a Peugeot does and leads outlet are good

Why do you need to mod the CAS for anything?

All you really need to do is find an ignition controller that will take the CAS signal straight up. then retain the standard CA ignitor and coils

Im sure there is an ignition only computer out there that will be compatable with nissan CAS, if all else fails get a fuel and spark computer and just use it for spark control. My haltech uses the nissan CAS signal. I'd say microtech also does

Prefer ignition controller like Megajolt but off the factory CAS
dont think any of them do though. I want to avoid full ECU just
CBStuffed with their complexity.

not really much complexity to just run the spark side of things, less complex than say adapting a dizzy to the engine then having to work out controling it. you only need to run as many inputs as you feel are needed and you are only mapping the spark

im sure there are more companies than just megajolt though....and im sure someone will have one that does the job

i think if you search in the US you will find crank trigger setups, then you could look up Ignitec in Checkoslovakia from memory who started in Bike ignitions and have some very nice fully mappable ignition only systems that are very friendly price wise,so in fact are their full ECU systems, they have a very strong following over their in race circles.
Unfortunately people such as haltech no longer cater to the ignition only market, just a few in the EU,UK and USA still look after that market.
Best also if this thing is going to see any serious work not to run ignition of the cams as their is way too much timing scatter with belt drive cams when they drive ignition units, timing is not very accurate or consistent compared to crank trigger setups.

When all said and done it will take some effort to make up so you might as well do it right first time rather than have to spend the money twice to get the result you need.

the bit about ignition scatter has sold me to the megajolt unit
its crank triggered and as someone mentioned will allow a window
to adjust the cams if need be.
