Put some new kyb shocks in the rear, today and pretty disappointed.

They are too stiff for my liking. They have lifted the rear of the car 1 1/2 inches. And the ride is pretty harsh to say the least.

Not sure what todo. Put the old monroes back in or fit lowering blocks to the rear and persist with the kyb shocks. The monroes would loose there dampening ability if you went over to many bumps in quick succession and the fact the rear of the car has come up with the kyb, maybe the monroes are completly stuffed. They are gas charged assisted but you can hear the oil valves making squeaky noises, when you move them.

Are they adjustable kyb shockies? If so back them off a touch to make it less stiff otherwise I dunno what you can do short of putting lowering leaf springs in

Well found out the shocks arnt KYB they are Gabriel units.

Anyway after a bit more dilligence on my part, found out that they are too long and bottom out when the vechile is dropped off the jack, so the car is sitting on the shock. Now the shock has a rather large neoprene stopper on the shaft to stop it completly bottoming out and this stopper is way to thick and does not allow the shock to collapse enough to suit the 1200.

These are suppose to be a 1200 replacement shock and on comparison to my old monroes, they are noticebly different in collapsed length. About 50mm. Which meant I hade about 30mm of upwards travel on the rear suspension with the car sitting on the ground.

Anyway getting the distributor in WA to do anything is a pain. They dont want to accept liability and dont want to return the shocks because they have been test fitted to the vehicle and I purchased them 2 months ago and just got onto installing them.

Have sent them my old Monroe as comparison as they sent some shocks down the other day as an option and the lower eye was completly wrong.

Got my old shocks back yesterday, no joy yet with new ones but the old ones are back in.

Made up some mudflaps for the rear of the coupe today. Should have done them sooner as it would hav saved the rear quarters from stone damage.

Not had a channce to look at the brake setup, so definately no superkana action for me on Sunday.
