Hi guys, just after suggestions/opinions of engine choice for my 2 door. Have been told about l20b, mild cam, twin carbs, goes really well. Also someone else said not to discount a15 engine. What do you reckon??

I would be interested in knowing more about these two engines aswell.
Also be interested in knowing what would need to be modified in order to fit either of these two engines.

If you can weld, l20b is good bang for buck, people wan't too much for a14/a15's, and they don't make as much power.

Into a y, go l20b. If you can live with bump steer and crap steering geometry, the a stanza or is it 180b xmember bolts in. Tunnel us same auto it manual so no tunnel mod needed for stumpy box. Get a 120y 4dr sedan bw68 diff and a bw auto tail shaft from 120y and your drive line is almost done

Just checked wiki its stanza.

A16pfffft yours doesn't even see the road Nige. L20b. Power torque and reliability for years over a16. Plus stronger gearboxes cheaper than a series boxes

L16 37kg lightweight block (L20b is 52kg, L18 44kg)
20mm shorter block (clears bonnet)
Longer L16 prepped conrods
Bore +2mm for 85mm
z20e pistons perfect
Modded L20B crank
1952cc and if not happy can be turboed
as an L16 for easy engineering
Easy for gearboxes ask Unfamilia

The 1.547 rod stroke ratio makes heaps of midrange torque and
will spool up turbos very early & no need to go over 7000rpm.

The tech wiki says what about using stanza stuff mik? Whole 180b front end pretty much bolts straight into a 120y but apparently the engine sits too high and far forward and suspention geometry is also apparently less than desirable.
Have also seen it done with 240k stuff
