A Hitachi subsidiary. That's why the Nissan Competition clutch LSD units look like just the Toyota ones.

Nismo has also sold (and continues to sell) other types of LSD from more famous manufacturers. Look in their current catalog.

to be clear, i am suggesting the comparison, in terms of pricing, you made is wrong (between the LSD and exhaust), and if i can get $1000 these days for a GX exhaust please let me know where cause i will sell one....

What I was referring to is the comparison between an items Actual value versus the price an item may sell for. Demand and rarity can determine the sell price irrelevant of its actual value. Up until nearly a decade ago a GX exhaust could be traded for next to nothing, its quite a different story these days. I don't believe I implied a GX exhaust would will cost you $1000, but rather they have been priced well above what could be considered a fair dollar value.

First ...WOW I wasn't expecting this feedback, so thank you all.

This is a genuine Nissan Competition unit and I too would go for a H165 for the same price (who wouldn't) but if you have to run to FIA Appendix K or similar then you maybe stuck with the H145. Some of the Historic Rally guys in Europe have this problem, over 10 years ago one of them bought a GX exhaust manifold from me for around $300......so yes I think they would pony up $1000.

I plopped down $1200 for the H190 complete diff, why?? Try finding one with the 23 spline axles (roadster 510 wagon), it also had a 4.38 gear which is exactly what I need...............the 29 spline ones are a good bit cheaper BUT you need to have the axles shortened so by the time you convert everything it ends up about the same. Also with the alloy housing and alloy drums the weight is almost identical as the H145 steel unit. You can get a custom diff/axle for around $2300-$2500 complete. By the time I sell off the parts from the parts car that the H190 came out of I'll be into the set up about $950-$1000............much cheaper than custom unit from Speedway Engineering or Curry.

Now as for my H145 it's not worth $1000 in the US because we have options, probably $650 - $750 tops. (which is what I was thinking)

Thanks again guys,

Tom

What options do we in the US have for H145 LSDs?

Dave.............should have been more clear when I said options. I meant we racers in the US have options as in using H165, stronger unit for the same price.

I acquired a H145 LSD with 4:11 gears from Bob's 1200 a couple of years ago. Don't know the condition of the clutch packs (just installed it, it works...) and the ring and pinion whine (looks like there are fine scratches on the faces of the gears).

Paid $750.00 and felt it was a fair deal.
