Looking for 37mm intake and 30mm exhaust valves (tulip style) 7mm stem, I recall that these may be NLA through Nissan. I have a set that I thought would be fine but they are not, it's holding up my A15 build. The standard ones from Nissan appear to be getting scarce as well.

Tom, There is quite a bit of used NASCAR 7mm tulip titanium valves on ebay US atm. Not very expensive either. Would need to have them cut down though.

Grinding is the way to go with Ti valves. Apparently they are a pain in the butt to machine in say a lathe, due to being prone to chatter.

Have you tried SI Valves?

Time to laugh.......all these years looking in the catalog I thought SI was some sort of abbreviation.

I called the folks at SI Valves in SoCal they had the intakes but only 2 exhaust valves, and they made 2 more exhaust valves and shipped them the same day. I should have them tomorrow..

The down side of this, not having the parts to put the head back together was going to be my excuse to run my vintage motocross bike at a off road GP on Saturday............dooh!!

They have Nissan Competition valves in stock? Or just stock A14 valves and you will tulip them?

What are the benefits of Tulip valves ?? I read somewhere that they weigh more and limit the rpm somewhat. But they give more torque.

Dave these are the exact valves you'd get from Motorsports, they are made by SI. My nomenclature is, I think wrong, the valves are swirl polished and have under cut / narrowed stems near the head.

They showed up tonight and I've been out in the garage prepping the head so I can take it over to a buddies shop and get the valve job done. The seats where they match up to the port needed to be opened up about 1mm..................this is the last of thing I need to get the engine done. The short block is already I the car. I've had it apart for 3 months now and it's making me batty. I may actually have it running by Sunday.

The final tally on the motor is now at $2544, should be at least 100 RWHP hoping for the 110-115 RWHP range. The A12 was at 80 RWHP, went up to 1508cc, 12-1 compression, the 37/30 mm valves and the Delta 278 Cam. I'm pulling another 60lbs out of the car should be down to 1600lbs even. Mostly though the extra torque should be very nice, no more zinging it to 8600 RPM's in an attempt to keep up down the straights.
