The bracing the D has shown in red would not be required, unless you were to cut off the top of the standard bracket the goes to the filter base.

hmm, looking good but now i'm wondering..

why not use something that is throttle body injection? throttle, fuel pressure and injector all mounted in one unit

are you planning on AFM or MAP control?

i remember some cars like cordia were throttle body injection, but im sure there is many others readily available at wreckers

perhaps this limits upgrade options on the injector though?

Mik, the injector angle is usually something that would be properly thought out. Ie, pointed at the back of the inlet valve or pointed down into the middle of a velocity stack etc. But this project is about keeping things simple while still working OK. There isn't a huge advantage running multiple injectors in a centerpoint injection setup. This ECU can't do sequential on a 4 cyl. there would be very little advantage having 4 injectors mounted at the valves with this ecu while on this manifold. If you were to go IR (1 throttle plate/cyl), that would obviously require 1 injector per runner, whether that be batch fire or sequential.
I would not recommend having one throttle plate/cyl if its going to be turbocharged as well. You need a good ($$$) ecu to do this properly.

If you were to pay for a good ecu, I would still recommend a single TB using drive by wire. Then you can do torque mapping as well as excellent anti lag strategies, but that's a whole other world to what's going on here..lol

My Mum had an Astra/ Pulsar from 87-89 that was throttle body injection.

It will be MAP for the load sensing(GM 3 Bar). This TB uses a simple adaptor and a hose easily clamps to the top. I don't think the injectors are much good in those early throttle body setups. They need to be able to flow plenty of fuel. If there is a factory centerpoint setup that will work easier than this, i'd be keen to make this easier for people to make. Have you got one in mind RC?

I'll do some googling as well..

I think ill change the build thread injector mount to the one on the previous page. It was so much easier to make. might not get a chance today.

I'll do the turbo manifold in the next few days.

looks really good now, I knew youd come up with something better quickly
just in case if you havent pls look at these for the future

Makes it easier if its commonly found unit from wreckers or fleebay

eg. 1

Ford TBI has built in regulator and uses a weber adaptor for cheap
boxing it up is the challenge however cleanest easiest looking unit

eg. 2
Another very clever use of a V8 TBI and GM ignition on an A series Mini
http://www.binderplanet.com/photopost/Data/886/plumbing_3406.jpg

eg. 3 vw and renault units
http://electroncastle.com/wp/wp-conte ... /single-throttle-body.jpg

Here are the injector rates for some different makes
http://home.earthlink.net/~jopeterson/CFI-EFI.html
the injectors on the ford TBI can be changed for later
ones from euro cars and the top hat can be made from
a rectangular box with tubular outlet yet the setup with
improved tubular mounting looks the goods!

Well I reckon cordia is worth a look as they were centerpoint and turbo. Plus there was a scene for them so some injector upgrades made be well known. I havent looked at one in 10 years though. I cant remember if the starion was multi or center point. But if everyone looks for them at the same time they will be hard to get

The Ford TBI was my first pick. For being easy to get and an adaptor probably not too hard to get or make. But getting a boost hose to seal on the top would be a real pain! The X3 Exel TB's are dime a dozen, easy to adapt and seal a boost hose into the top. EDIT: On further investigation they only run 15Psi and are renown for leaking. Think i'll give these a miss.

RC, I did some googling and the Starion was also TB injection. I cant find a pic of just the TB yet. As you say, They could be a bit hard to find in large numbers.
EDIT: ive found some pics, they look simple enough. They have a very large base tho.

I also just had a look at some Motorbike TB's. Like the early GSXR 750 units. I did think that you could make 4 from one set. They do have the injector bosses built in, but mounting them and rails/regs would still be a pain and only one would have a TPS.

I think i'm sticking with the Hyundai TB's for now.

I've updated the build thread with the new, easy to make FPR bracket.

This is the ECU that will control this project. Its the Microsquirt V3. I've already bought a package similar to this but includes a GM 3 bar MAP sensor for $575 AU$. I probably could have found a secondhand haltech or microtec ecu for less, but wanted to be able to find something that anyone could buy easily. This way I can also show wiring diagrams and send out tune files of the finished tuned product to anyone that may be following along.
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Microsquir ... Parts&hash=item19f9896b83
The tune files will be very close if the same injector and FPR is used.

MegaSquirt V3 comes with boost-capable MAP and can do 4-cylinder sequential EFI. That being said TBI is easier and cheaper for us DIY types.
