Hello guys, I finally decide to start with my Rotary project. I know is going to take me some time as I have to restore the car at the same car.

Will be asking couple of question about some modifications I want to do like

Need to convert my front strusts to coilover, bigger brakes with a Ford 4 1/2 pattern

The beginning of the car a complete factory 1200,

I started by removing the factory A12 to make room for the Mazda 13B Turbo.

It will be injected using a Microtech LT10x4, a complete ProJay intake set up with 8 1600 injectors.

Front suspension will come from the guys at MadDat and their 13B kit, also using their adjustable Lowe control arm. Struts will be modify and use the T3 coilover system and their camber plate. The front brake has become an issue, this is my hurdle as of today!

The rear end will also be swap to a Ford 8.8, will eliminate the c-clip and change the end plata to a Big Ford. Axel will come from Strange Engineering and a set of Wilwood brakes to be able to keep the emergency brake. The wheels are RC Components 15x10 single beadlock using Mickey Thompson 26x12 tires

Sounds good

The Datsun 1200 struts are already coilovers with a Ford 4.5 inch pattern (same as Mustang/Falcon). If you are thinking of 5-lug wheels, maybe you can use the Ford 5-on-4.5 discs which bolt onto some Nissan struts (see Brake Swaps#Ford), although many Nissans incuding S14 240SX uses the same bolt pattern

Using the 1200 struts mean lighter weight=faster performance. You can also convert them to adjustable spring height or convert them to small-diameter coils (useful if you will be fitting extra-wide front wheels)

Hello guys, need some help.. I look over the wiki but couldn't get the answer.

Before I spend any money on my front brakes (waste) need your help. What options do I have When upgrade the front brakes?

I'll be using 15 X 4 wheels 5 lugs 4.5 ford bolt pattern

Any advise is welcome?

I thought of re drilling the factory hub to 5 lug..

Thanks in advance!

OPTION 1: PCD-converting wheels spacers are easiest way, works OK with high-offset wheels
eBay search

does not look possible to put 5-lugs in a stock hub

If you swap to B210/B310 struts

Looks like enough material to fit 5-lugs?

Until you turn the hub over

So it looks like a strut swap is best option?

OPTION 2: B310 ("Datsun 210") struts are same length as 1200, but are the larger 2" tube so your shock inserts choices are abundant. If you swap these onto your 1200, Ford 5-lug rotor-hubs from eBay bolt on. See B310 Strut Swap and Ford Brake Swap

OPTION 3: Maybe could swap S14 "240SX" 5-lug struts with 5-on-4.5" wheel bolt pattern. See S13 Strut Swap, should work IF S14 is similar. Uses 1200 struts with Datsun B310 lower control arms & ball joints

Thanks, I send you a private message

Because of sourcing and comparing price, I'll probably buy a set of Wilwood or aerospace. Had a bit some issue before with aerospace(warping).

Will see if I can modify the Wilwood to fit.

B210 is different from Datsun 210. It's the 210 strut that documented swap for 1200s

For a budget street/strip car, S13 struts are better than Pinto suspension (lighter, and better brakes). Nissan S13 parts are easy to source in Missouri, it was a regular production car for USA: 1989-1994 Nissan 240SX

Missouri is also home to the winningest 1200s in the country (SCCA racers) including pjz who sells 1200 racing parts

The Pinto front suspension swap is a very old swap. It is not the best, but it's tried and true

The "Pinto" brakes from Wilwood are a better idea:
* Light alloy hubs
* Extra light thin rotors
* alloy calipers

For drag racing, light is good

I have no idea if Pinto-spec hubs can be modified to fit a 1200.

Here's what a fellow club member has done:

Wilwood Dynapro single caliper and Wilwood 10.25" two-piece disc. Uses stock 1200 spindle and stock 1200 hubs

I finally got these struts on the car! Wow is all I can say! The pedal is rock hard and the car stops ridiculously fast! I haven't done any measured stops yet but the feel is outstanding.

Im sure you understand the prices of rotary parts atm and near future?

its getting cheaper to go full billet plates the way things are going
South Africa has some cheap CNC places for a full billet 13b

stock non pollution early 1970s 13b weighs around 120kg
full alloy around 80kgs.

Id go for the recommended above to counter the heavier rotary
