I went for a drive today to check out the bathurst supersprint a lot of variety in cars not many dattos!! the A15sunny was double entered they did quite well was very close class I think they ended up 1st and 3rd in class only half a second separating the lot. nissan powered cars did really well a freing in a RB30- turbo LJ torana was first outright with a 46.8 Gregs VG30 LH run 54.somithing the boys where running 56-57's in the sunny very good time for under 1600cc I wont be going over tomorrow for hillclimb it was kinda depressing watching all the cars racing and only being a spectator. March is ther next buig event so i hope the 1200 is sorted well before then.

good to see b310gx had a good run this year. That's certainly a fast little car.

I think I should have done the bathurst weekend instead of the rally... I ended up rolling on SS4!

I'm OK apart from a bruised ego... I posted a new thread about the crash with some links to the photos.

would you believe i was leading the class after the 4th run & was 5th in class after the fifth.i think it was the two oversteers through the lefthander after the kink & the moment through the next righthand that cost me the time.& they were originally only going to count
4 runs.

the sunday was brain fade day.i'd forgotten how to drive it seems.was just getting it all back when the heavens opened,& as everyone seemed to be going home, the organisers called it a day.i did my best time of the day on the last run, when the rain had just started,& the track had gone cold.& i was a second quicker.
i think i was 5th again,with my co-driver 3rd.

next year i'll have (wish list starts here)....

a good time, just like this year.

B310,
did they run 0 - 1600 or 0 - 1300 , 1300 - 2000 ?? Real disappointing when you have to run against the 2L cars Were there any of the 2L ( ha ha ha ha 2L my foot !) VW's there this year ?? Last time I raced at Bathurst the VW's were 2 - 2.5 sec quicker than the rest in 2L ... hmmmmm.
Glad you had a good time
Comming to Oran Park ?
Cheers

yes,it was 0-1600 cc,the cars we ran against were a vtec honda civic & a mitsubishi lancer.we
were all talking together on sunday about what to do to make the cars faster, because we were all double entered & i organized it so the double entered cars had their own lane.
the plan is to run oran this weekend, but i still havent called doreen from the nswrrc to see if i
can enter on the day.i'll do that tomorrow.

which volkswagens are you talking about when you say 'under 2 litre'.i know a fair number of them & most are what they say they are.their world is too small & bitchy to get away with anything for too long without getting sprung.
& would you believe i helped assemble some of the motors,so i know what's in them.some of them are only 1.9 litres,& they're the ones that
seem to win the most.craig torrens, greg ward,& rudi frank all have motors built by a friend of mine, stan pobjoy at coffs harbour.
volkswagens are best suited to hillclimbing due to the weight transfer advantage they
have,& that they don't get a chance to overheat.

Hope you can run on Sunday - the more the merrier ! Met Craig Torrens at that hillclimb, from what I remember he is a top bloke. Don't know the others though. I'm surprised to hear they are all legit as 2 + sec is a lot at any climb considering the bloody things don't steer around corners !!
Glad to hear you had a good time.
Cheers
