At the end of the 11 minutes, chunks of ring and piston were coming out the exhaust. As they passed through oil in the exhaust system they shot out the end and left little white trails of smoke. Very spectacular.

Everyone paid in $2 and stated a maximum time they thought the engine would last, closest was winner takes all.

After talking yesterday he came up with an idea of setting up a website ENGINE-KILL.com. (Sick puppy)!

Anyway I dont believe all cars need to be destined for the street as show ponies. Some just need the living daylights raced out of them to prove how good a car really is.......aka Bathurst in is glory days.

Abuse is for example idiotic burnouts and there are types of racers who thrash and others who prefer to make the most of their drivetrain by timed gear changes and disciplined fast and enjoyable driving.
Some makes are luckier than others as most parts are still available for some. However poor dattos have little in terms of what chev or ford cars get for replacements once you thrash the crap out of them.
Now some of us will keep loving our dattos the best way we can because once they are gone many will wish they where street show ponies.
