Hey ppl, Up to the stage of getting my 1200 ute resprayed. Was just wondering if any1 new of good quality panel beaters or panel beaters that have sprayed your car. Looking in the region from toowoomba to brisbane.
If anyone knows and could help out it would be much appreciated.

2 panel beaters that I've dealt with......

1 - Sureway Smash Repairs in Sherwood (Bris).
Good job, at a good price.

2 - 4H smash repairs in Darra (Bris).
Absolutely top notch job, but you pay for it.

I got a quote the other day from a place in gatton, i want it sparyed the same original blue as it is now along with a hard torno thats on it and the gaurds rolled. The ute is straight few little nicks and a couple of bubbles, dont want the engine bay or interior just the inside of the doors and into the door jams. Got the qoute back and it was $5000. To me that bullshit. It also said i dont get any warranty on the job. Let me no wat u's think.

not getting warrently on the job is probally not unreasonable since they dont know whats under the original paint. They could blow over some paint, only to have it peel off an 12 months cause of whats underneath.

maybe you dont know wats involed in a full respray but most places in perth would be 5 grand cash no recipet no warrenty . and they dont want to do it. only if they know ya if $5000 is way out of your buget then call your nearest tafe and try and book it in . in perth we can book it in to a tafe all you have to pay is for paint and stuff :) but theres a 2 year wait lol

Geez!! lucky m in syd then for a paint job. i guess there are heaps of spray shops here in pretty much every suburb. but for $5000 you would get a 1200 ute painted to enter the next show and shine or even a panel beat maybe some rust cut and paint for that much.
i have got a few quotes for painting around the $2000 mark with me preping the body work. then the painter masks up, sprays and bakes in the booth.
personally its so hard to keep paint work nice these days if you want to enjoy your car, assholes open and bang there doors at the car park, trucks flick rocks when in front and then wear and tear of a daily driver, not forgetting leaving it in the weather for those with out a garage. (different story if its a show car)
i would look for a private painter, or a 3rd/4th year apprentance that knows how to use a gun. they make some $$$ on the private job and you save some $$$.
thats my 5c

goodluck with the paintwork.

Body and paint work can be summed up in the old saying... "You get what you pay for."

If it sounds too good to be true then it probably is. Do your research and make sure you see some cars each place has painted to know what you're in for!

Thats reasonble. You never know what your going to find under the paint. Do it your self if money is an issue

Have you tried Dr Kustom in Coopers plains/Archerfield they do full respray.
I saw a 1200 ute there fully stripped and heaps of imports with wide body conversion.
I heard Cameron's Bodyworks is good as well same area as Kustom.

Search their details in Yellowpages or online
