J-pipe

The stock manifold may be used with a looping pipe (J-pipe) for mounting a turbo. But a more direct mount is more efficient (allows more power), the J-pipe is the easiest and quickest to fabricate. It will make a lot more HP than a stock engine.

POST B110SSS: The exhaust of a A15 with a 'j' made out of plumers steam pipe bends works very well and does'nt require any bracing as it is inherently very strong, similar to what 1200 rc has posted, a bit shorter. All flanges can then be profile cut from a decent thickness plate steel and mig welded to the steam pipe.

  1. Start with manifold flange
  2. Build up runners using steam pipe (for strength and heat resistance)
  3. Add turbo flange (in this case, 3-bolt Subaru flange)
