The Timing Cover is the aluminum part on the front of the engine that covers the Timing Chain. It also has a timing mark on the cover and houses the crankshaft pulley seal.

The Timing Cover bolts to the front of the engine block and covers the Timing Chain. The Water Pump bolts to the timing cover.
