Well that is what I see, most "mates" are younger than their cars, but in my case, I was far too young to buy a car(new one),but grew up loving those Datsuns, I grew up in an area with lots of Datsun enthusiasts, 510's, 710's, B210's,1200's, 610's and always wanted one. I love the look, the power, the RWD, (no FWD for me never!) . A Datsun with racy looks is my craziness, everytime I see a Datsun I start going off in my head thinking, look at that car, lowered , w/ 13 X8 wheels, dual DCOE's, ...................you know, I can't stop!

Cheers!

My flatmate's dad bought his Datsun 1200 new. It's a sedan and my flatmate was doing deliveries in it for Pizza Hut up until about 4 years ago now. Then he got a new car and the 1200 went a sat in the backyard. It's still there. The clutch is a little stuffed. But it still starts and drives....

Another guy I know of who just bought a coupe got the original paperwork with it. He was the 3rd person to own it and it came with all the brouchures and stuff like that. As well as the quoted original price written on one of the pamphlets... Funny...

I wish i had money like the professional in there late 30's
You mean like the guys with a home mortgage, new car payment, kids to feed and no money left to work on the 1200? Seriously, you blokes living at home with a regular job probably have more money to spend on your 1200 than us older guys do (or at least it's easier to justify spending it!)

And oh yeah, the reson that there are alot of people who were born in december wasn't because of the christmas spirit. It would have been in spirit 9 months before hand

I did realise I had made this mistake when I read it again the next day. When I posted the original message I had drunk too much bourbon and was a little mathematically challenged

I was hoping no one would pick it up.

I will put MY post down to xmas spirit!!

I'm 24 and have owned/operated/worked heavily on 1200's since I was 16.....eight years now of experience working on my little coupes, I can't believe it! It's basically been the only car I've owned or care to own besides my two classic Buicks! Right now all I want to do is get mine looking good; new paint, bumpers, and body straightened out. Just got a new front spoiler and front/rear bumpers, so now I just need to sand down the rusty spots and get those dents taken care of!

I'm 29. strangely so are all of my current crop of Datsuns - my 1200 coupe and sedan, and my 240K coupe.
