Is it worth installing a rear sway bar in a 120y? has anyone done this or not? i want this car to stick to the road like glue and wondered whether was something better and or cheaper than doin this?

if the suspension is otherwise stock, I would say no. I'd do springs and shocks first, and a front swaybar upgrade, otherwise you'll just be lifting the inside rear wheel around corners and going nowhere fast.

Where can you buy one? Any junkyard options for the rear?

teretonga, that's actually my old coupe's interior. but yeah I can't wait to get to the track either - probably going to Morgan Park next wednesday for a general practice session. Then August 5 is the first hillclimb at Mt Cotton.
whiteline here in Aus make aftermarket rear bars for 1200/120Y, but they are a bit on the large side.
junkyard options - maybe early corollas. Some of the KE55's etc have a nice small rear swaybar that would probably be suitable.

yeah I know - wonderful isn't it! I was looking at upgrading the 120Y bar I used to have on the front of my old coupe and found the same problem. Pedders told me they could make one to that pattern in any size.
EDIT: if you get a bar custom made like this, remember the rate of the bar is relative to the cube of its diametre. So a 22mm bar will be 33% stiffer than the 120Y's standard 20mm bar. That's a big change in the car's balance.

is your diff LSD? that would be a good start, also i reckon a small sway bar would have to help it sit flat, and a panhard rod, would involve some minor fabrication for btackets etc. well thats what Ive got planned for mine to get a bit better handling and traction anyway.
