D im trying to get those parts into town as im 10kms out of town and without a license and i dont travel into town for work and i just found out i cant send the roof supports via aus post as they are to long trust me im really trying to get them out to you!

ca18det is out of the question due to rego issues and them being a heavy peice of #OOPS# (well for a 1000 anyway haha)
swift and e15 motors to much screwing around to get them to rwd
plus id rather keep my dinosaur pushrod motor then go over to dohc's etc and plus it keeps my grumpy old engine builder happy
i dont think 180rwkw's is to much out of the question honestly if topgears tired old a12 /w standard a15 head and simple drawthrough setup could make near 100rwkws then i cant see this making anything under 180rwkw's with fuell injection and a multi-coilpack ign system and a tad extra boost
im pretty sure the crank will handle it im not to sure about the rods though just gotta hope i dont pop one out the block
shouldnt have any problems if i can keep the oil up and dont be stupid floggin the #OOPS# out of it
and how will i have reliability issue if the boosts at 20-25 psi?? im not going to be running a high c/r ratio and will be using forged pistons (yummy)

It might be worth perfecting your tune on a stock bottom end before the forgies, as the difference between putting holes in stock pistons and forgies is significant but not huge. Thats assuming the c/r isn't hugely different.

The e15et engine shares the same bore size and stroke as the a15
the pistons are identical. Some old exa turbos are making over
400hp so the heads must definitely be superior to the best oval port
a-series heads. They allow bigger exhaust valves which is vital for boost.

I thought you were investing in the AY12 remake? Are they still going ahead? One of those would certainly make things boogie.

I think the biggest stumbling block to getting to 180rwkw will be head flow. If you don't have enough flow to get to 180kw all adding more boost will do is make it nice and hot.

im simply saying that any motor highly modded with a turbo that is pushed to its limits at 25psi you will have reliability problems it may only be little things like gaskets blowing but to me that means reliability problems , maybe putting a dual stage boost controller on would be a good idea so you can run say 14psi normal driving then when you realy wont to get under it you can go up to your 20-25psi, and you wont be putting so much unneeded strain on the motor during normal driving.

this car will only be driven rarely soo its not going to be a daily thing of floggin it abot and the reason i went with a fairly large turbo is so it would be laggy and could drive off boost. and o ringing the block is a pretty fool proof for not blowing out gaskets etc

as for the amount of headwork i think the Lseries valve along with a halve decnt port will do it
and i cant be bothered screwing around with an e15 head or motor plus i just bought my roller rockers!

I am currently in the process of building up a turbo a15 for my ute and I dont see your 180kw as out of the question at all. I am using a stock crank with the best quality bearings I could buy, stock piston with an enlarged bowl to reduce comp ratio and a fully balanced bottom end, I have an ex race big ported and valved gx head, zx10r quad throttle bodies and a megasquirt injection setup and I should be seeing 200hp without too much trouble if the tune is right. with your forged internals and a few more goodies than mine you should be able to squeeze a few more ponies than mine will have. good luck and I will keep an eye on progress

depending on the quality of the cast ay head boost could be an issue.
Either way if you bought the roller rockers already you should consider
just clean ports with heat proof coatings where you can a turbo camshaft
and a rev limit of 7K rpm for durability.
The roller rockers will already be enough with good valve springs.
